Import your Salesforce contacts

Run one report and you have the file LifeLong needs. This route needs no admin approval and no connected app, which is why it beats the org-wide data export for most people.

Last updated September 2026.

What you get

Whichever columns you put in the report. LifeLong reads first name, last name, email, phone, title, account name, mailing city, mailing state or province, mailing country, and website. Opportunities, activity history, and chatter are not part of a contact report.

Export from Salesforce

  1. Open the Reports tab and click New Report.
  2. Choose the Contacts report type (Contacts & Accounts also works) and click Start Report.
  3. Add the columns listed above, clear any filters that narrow the list, and set the date range to All Time.
  4. Click Run, then Export from the menu at the top right.
  5. Choose Details Only and the format Comma Delimited .csv, then click Export.

Details Only matters. The Formatted export adds report headers and grouping rows above your data.

The file you end up with

A .csv named after the report, one row per contact, with your column labels as the header row. Upload it as it is.

What LifeLong does with it

Every row becomes a Person. Matching runs on LinkedIn URL first, then email, then name, so running the report again later enriches the people you already have instead of duplicating them.

Imported People arrive with no encounters yet, so they sit in the No encounters band on your Network map until something happens with them. They queue in Roll Call, where you decide who matters at your own pace.
