Relationship intelligence for advancement

Be the gift officer who remembers why they give.

Giving history tells you what a donor did. LifeLong remembers the rest: the daughter's residency, the reason they stopped giving in 2023, the naming they quietly do not want. Your whole portfolio, still in your head when the visit comes around.

The problem

The reason someone gives has never fit in a contact report.

You are carrying a hundred or more prospects through qualification, cultivation, the ask and stewardship, and the cycle on any one of them runs for years. What moves a gift is rarely on the giving record. It is the daughter's residency, the program cut that soured them in 2023, the aside about wanting to give quietly. Half of it feels too small to write down, so it does not get written down, and the contact report goes in three weeks late with the shape of the visit and none of the substance.

Then the reception is tomorrow night, or the portfolio you just inherited came with no handoff meeting, and you are reading a wealth screening score trying to work out why anyone ever assigned this person to you. Your database knows every gift they have made. It was never built to hold why.

LifeLong is not a second donor database, and it is not somewhere to hide a donor record from your institution. It is the personal layer in front of the one you already run: you talk the visit out while it is fresh, and it gives you back the detail you need to prep the next conversation and to file a contact report worth reading.

Here's what walking in prepared actually looks like.

Save Capture

How it works for you

From one cultivation visit to an ask that does not come out of nowhere.

That capture becomes a living profile the moment you save it. LifeLong surfaces what you still do not know about why someone gives before you see them again, tells you who from your portfolio is likely to be at the next reception, and exports cleanly into whatever your advancement shop keeps as the system of record.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does this replace Raiser's Edge, our Salesforce instance, or Tessitura?
No, and it should not. Your system of record stays the system of record. LifeLong is the personal layer in front of it: you capture the visit in your own words while it's fresh, and it gives you the structured detail to file a proper contact report instead of a thin one written three weeks late. Export is one click, or a plain CSV.
I work for a public institution. Could my notes become a public record?
We can't answer that for your jurisdiction, and you should be wary of any tool that says it can. Open-records exposure for advancement varies by state and province, most public universities raise through a separately incorporated foundation for exactly this reason, and courts are still deciding the edges of it. Ask your advancement services team or counsel where personal working notes sit under your policy, the same way you would for a notebook or your own email. What we can tell you is what happens on our side: your notes are private to you, encrypted, and exportable or deletable at any time.
Do you record donor visits?
Never. You capture in your own words after a visit, in the car or at your desk. LifeLong does not listen in on or record live conversations, and it never joins a meeting.
What happens to a donor's information after I capture it?
It's stored in Canada and encrypted at rest, with some processing by vetted providers in the US and EU. We hold to PIPEDA and Québec Law 25 standards, and you can export or delete a person's record at any time.
